dayfile.txt is a file in the Cumulus data folder (which is in the folder where you installed Cumulus) which contains a summary of each day's data (highs and lows etc). The format of the file is given in the help, and in the wiki. Alternatively, you can use "View | This period" in Cumulus, and specify a single day (start = end) and get a few of the highs and lows for that day displayed.

Fred,

From reading these posts, I think you are getting confused with Cumulus (the weather station software on your computer) and Cumulus (the name of this forum on which you are reading this post).

Yes, you have to log in to this Cumulus forum, but it is in no way 'connected' to the Cumulus software installed on your PC.

I'm guessing when you did a search for dayfile.txt, you were searching in the forum, and not on your PC? As Steve has clearly indicated where the file is located on your PC, you don't need to search for it anyway, dayfile.txt will be one of he files in the \Cumulus\Data folder on your PC. I don't understand why you can't find it?

When you do find it, just be very careful how you edit it, be sure you know what you are doing or it may become unusable.

Well, don't give up! Some of us have been playing with stupid computers for over 30 years, and it doesn't get any easier, I can tell you!

Hmmm, maybe that didn't come out quite right

Hi Fred,

The Wathereye WEA22 looks like a re-badged Fine Offset unit. If it uses Easyweather software and connects to your computer via usb, you can use Cumulus software.

Cheers

What is that you want to do with these files? You don't need to do anything with them to get Cumulus up and running.

I am trying to run, Monthly Summaries as (you have) if possible, as I would find it interesting, as I have recorded in the past, the old fashion way write it on the monthly calander every day.
Many Thanks
Fred

You mean just to view it locally? a local version of the website?

I think all you would have to do, is to change the destinaton files, to a local folder in the internet settings?

If you are looking for a way to extract a monthly summary from Cumulus, select the 'View' menu, then 'This month', then choose the month you want and click 'update display', then click 'copy to clipboard'. You can then paste (using CTRL V) the result anywhere you want. Here's mine for this month so far:

Summary for April 2011

Temperature (°C):
Mean (1 minute) 8.6
Mean (min+max) 9.2
Mean Minimum 6.9
Mean Maximum 11.4
Minimum 5.3 day 11
Maximum 16.6 day 10
Highest Minimum 8.1 day 07
Lowest Maximum 9.6 day 13
Air frosts 0

Rainfall (mm):
Total for month 23.2
Wettest day 7.2 day 04
High rain rate 9.8 day 01
Rain days 9

Wind (mph):
Highest Gust 54 day 07
Average Speed 18
Wind Run 5659.6 miles
Gale days 3

Pressure (mb):
Maximum 1026.18 day 08
Minimum 991.00 day 04

Days with snow falling 0
Days with snow lying at 0900 0

Total hours of sunshine 40.8

Thanks Steve.
I can get to that easily that's v good!
What I am trying to reach is to read the records of every day of each month, on one page if possible! and to store or print the records through the years (of my location)
I do hope there is a way to be able to do that!!
Thanks again.
Fred
