Problems (my dayfile corrupted)

I have Cumulus v 1.9.0 and something not working ok.The problem it is in the rainfall.
When i have problems with interruption of electricity and i restart my computer and the Cumulus or when i need to restart only cumulus for some reason, then the monthly and annual rain are losted,propably it's problem with memory of cumulus (i don't have problem with my console,all it's ok,and the rain).
Also the last 3 days i have problems with my dayfile.txt, the error messages said (03-04-11: Error writing dayfile.txt-see diags log) this is the last message,today.
I upload the following files of dayfile.txt and the alltime.rec to see the problems, if you need to upload anything else just post me.
Thank you.

You have a blank line in dayfile.txt:

28/3/2011 15:10:57.968 : Error reading Dayfile: List index out of bounds (0)

Code: Select all

01/02/11;22,0;360;12:47;-4,2;06:32;5,5;15:02;1024,8;15:32;1028,2;09:02;0,0;00:00;0,0;-0,5;114,1;11,4;13:32

03/02/11;7;180;12:24;-1,6;23:46;23,5;16:15;1020,8;13:24;1023,8;22:34;0,0;00:00;0,0;12,6;407,5;14;22:30
This is the cause of the monthly and annual rainfall problems.

You have been getting errors writing to dayfile.txt since 1st April:

1/4/2011 00:00:00.125 : === Day reset for 1/4/2011
1/4/2011 00:00:00.468 : Error writing dayfile.txt: Cannot open file "C:\Program Files\Cumulus\data\dayfile.txt". Äåí Þôáí äõíáôÞ ç ðñïóðÝëáóç ôïõ áñ÷åßïõ áðü ôç äéáäéêáóßá, åðåéäÞ ÷ñçóéìïðïéåßôáé Þäç áðü êÜðïéá Üëëç äéáäéêáóßá
1/4/2011 00:00:00.484 : Copy the following data into dayfile.txt
1/4/2011 00:00:00.484 : 31/03/11;25,6;90;21:08;6,0;07:55;18,4;15:46;1019,6;00:42;1023,8;23:21;0,0;00:00;0,0;12,3;103,9;14,0;21:12

I can't tell you what the error is because it's not in English. The usual cause is that another program has the file open. If you look at the diags files as directed by the error message that you saw (in particular cumulus.009), you'll see the error messages and the instructions to copy the lines into dayfile.txt.

If you stop Cumulus, remove the blank line, and add the missing lines, all should be OK. You need to find out what it is that is stopping Cumulus writing to the file, though. What changed on your system on 1st April? A common cause is anti virus.

For future reference, please don't zip up all of the diags files individually, it takes me much longer to open all of the files; just zip up the folder.

thnak you for the help
i'll make the changes as you say,and i'll inform you
I can't tell you what the error is because it's not in English.
"C:\Program Files\Cumulus\data\dayfile.txt". Äåí Þôáí äõíáôÞ ç ðñïóðÝëáóç ôïõ áñ÷åßïõ áðü ôç äéáäéêáóßá, åðåéäÞ ÷ñçóéìïðïéåßôáé Þäç áðü êÜðïéá Üëëç äéáäéêáóßá
I'll make the traslation, it says "Was not possible the access of file from the process, because it is used already by certain other process"

i found the missing lines in the diags.

thank you again ...

Thanks - that's the usual one. Check your anti-virus settings; it's best to exclude the Cumulus data folder from any scans.

Steve
i changed the missing lines after the midnight (00:10) in the dayfile.txt , ok , but when i open the program i lost again the monthly rain :bash:
and a message error appears again (04-03-11: Error writing dayfile.txt-see diags log)
inside the dayfile the monthly rain is ok for the month April. Since i added the missing lines and all its ok in the dayfile.txt ,why the total of the monthly rain is not ok ;;;;;(i'll make all these with the program close)
I use the Cumulus the last 2 years and never had problems until the past month March.
Do you think it's better to unistall the antivirus(Nod 32) for a few days to saw if this is the problem;;;;

do you know how i can add the monthly rain ;;;
for the annual i know(configuration-station-year to date rainfall (Amount)

You can only correct the monthly rain by correcting dayfile.txt , and that should then correct your yearly rainfall. If you upload your dayfile.txt I'll see if I can see what's wrong with it. You didn't put more blank lines in, did you?

Steve
blank lines i don't have.
i added the dayfile.txt,
when you open the file you will see in, i have lost the lines of 01/02/11 and 27/03/11, can you tell me where i can find it ;;;
you have all my diags.

I close and restart the program to test it and i saw that it's working ok, the monthly rain ok , except the annual rain ,it missed only 6,3 mm of rain,propably it is from the losted lines.(something else that i noticed,every time that i close the program and then i open it , the annual rain is different,do you know why ;;; )

Thank you very much for your time ...

If the missing lines aren't in one of the diags files, then they're lost.

The only way that the annual rain could be different each time you start up, using the same dayfile.txt, would be if today's rain was different. Is it? If you look in the diags files yourself, you'll see what it's calculated for the annual rain total each time it starts up.
