Hi folks,
Didn't see this question in my search results - hope it's fresh.
Is there any point (value) in downloading the "memory" records from my Fine Offset console now that Cumulus (I assume) is doing a dandy job of it already?
note: and by "point" I mean could that data from the console be used to supplement or replace any bad data from Cumulus?
thanks,
- Deck

Do you mean running Easyweather occasionally to download the data? If you can be bothered to do it, I would say it was a good idea; I can't think of any disadvantages, and it means you have a backup copy of the data so you can more easily correct Cumulus data if anything odd happens with Cumulus.
I used to do the same thing myself with my Davis station (running the supplied software every few days just to grab the data), and the Davis software does do some things that Cumulus doesn't. But I soon got bored with doing that so I stopped

Thanks Steve,
point taken, I'll carry on with the memory dumps. I've tried to be careful and responsible about keeping all the records, but I recently tried to get everything in one place and have a look at it in an excel spreadsheet - the results weren't very encouraging - huge truck-sized holes showed up like craters in a rice paddy. But I'll push ahead and drink heavily to blot out the humiliation.
