YAWCAM forum back online and new versions released
I just noticed that there are new releases of YAWCAM and the forum is now active. I've downloaded the latest version and it is running fine so far.

I had an update a few weeks ago and it had a bug in the ftp upload, so had to go back to an older version again.
Will see if its been fixed now

It's gone now, looks pretty permanent. nothing there but download link. Help function does not work as it's linked to a web site which isn't there. That matches the rest v036 for me, black screen and nothing else. Trying to use MS Lifecam Cinema 5000.hills wrote:I just noticed that there are new releases of YAWCAM and the forum is now active. I'll just have to look for and use something else.
Cheers,
Ian

I'm having problems with yawcam too. Website seems to have been diverted to http://hem.bredband.net/
Looks like it's been hijacked or someone made a mistake somewhere.

Re: YAWCAM forum back online and new versions released
I'm having trouble that I get a message coming up when starting yawcam saying "Failed to auto detect the ip!" Does this on 2 computers so perhaps Yawcam goes to the yawcam website for this information and it is no longer there. Any one else having problems with this?
Also having a problem with ftping the picture to a website. Picture ftps, with the correct timestamp but an old picture. Not sure if this is related to the Yawcam problems. More research required.

My YAWcam software seems to be working fine at the moment....although I do get the "failed to detect IP" message, it doesn't seem to have stopped it working at all

Re: YAWCAM forum back online and new versions released
I only seem to get the "failed to detect IP" message if I shut down and restart my server.
It's like YAWCAM does not remember my settings and I then have to reset up my webcam
each time. Which is a bit of a pain.
Not sure what's going on with the YAWCAM website. The HTML code is very basic
and I am sure if it was a "temporary website" it would have been made a bit more
advanced than that. Very strange

That website is a broadband provider, so "presuming" the site has gone down, and its just redirecting back to the original host.
I am also getting the "failed to autodetect ip" on the program, but only on restart and it doesn't affect the actual running of the program

So I switched to webcamXP free and it has been working problem free. so far . I was getting tired of the constant socket errors and what not with yawcam anyway and also it looks like it will no longer be supported . ...on another note I get my new toy today a WS 2080 yipee !

Re: YAWCAM forum back online and new versions released
The problem I have with yawcam, apart from the failed IP problem is that yawcam quite happily ftp's a file to my website, with the correct timestamp but the picture is old. If I go into yawcam I have to select the camera again and then it all works once more for a while.
Maybe Yawcam didn't pay their bills and not getting enough donations?
