Hello weather enthusiast!
Now I'm trying to test a older WX-200 Weather station running two Cumulus copies in my "official" Weather PC, for comparing the records between both stations.
But sometimes the "second copy" crashed when starting, both copies are in the same drive but different folder names ("official" C:\Cumulus and "test" C:\Cumulus_TEST")
BTW, the WX-200 does not have the Thermo-higro sensors attached, (they died several years ago thanks to corrosion), so Cumulus is always reporting -999 or -500 degrees and 100% external humidity default values.
Attached the bugreport and Diags folder in .ZIP format.

Re: Running two Cumulus copies at the same time ?
The serial port is sending an interrupt to say that data is available, but when Cumulus tries to read it, there isn't any - as if something else had already read the data. I should really trap the error, but it's an indication that there's a problem somewhere anyway.
Does it work OK with the second station if the other copy with the other station isn't running? Are they both connected to 'real' serial ports, or is some sort of software involved?

Re: Running two Cumulus copies at the same time ?
Hello Steve,
Both stations are connect to "real" serial ports, my main weather PC have a serial port built in the motherboard plus a Lanpro LP-PCI 2 Serial port card.
The "main" serial port is used for the NMEA time sync GPS and the "expanded" serial ports are used by both Weather stations.
The "main" weather station (a LaCrosse WS-2310) has been connected in the "expanded" serial port card since I built this desktop PC and never has fail (touch wood)
Both transmitter & receiver buffers are set at maximum size.
Hope this helps ...

Re: Running two Cumulus copies at the same time ?
You haven't said whether the WX-200 works OK if only that copy of Cumulus is running? The fact that you have two copies running may well be irrelevant.
You could try the latest build. There are possibly similar issues with the wired stations as the ones I fixed for the wireless ones (I changed both sets of code). I'd expect it not to work at all, though, if that were the case.

Hello Steve, sorry for my late response,
Only for curiosity, Cumulus saves any configurations or parameters in the windows Registry ??
In fact, I don't have done this test.steve wrote:You haven't said whether the WX-200 works OK if only that copy of Cumulus is running? The fact that you have two copies running may well be irrelevant.

No, nothing. The installer puts the standard uninstall info in the registry, of course.yv1hx wrote:Only for curiosity, Cumulus saves any configurations or parameters in the windows Registry ??

Only for closing this ticket:
Since I upgraded to build (988) the instabilities vanished.
Again, thanks a lot for this excellent piece of software.
