FTP or SFTP

Post by K6SGH »

I'm a new user trying to get CumulusRealtime to work. I'm having problems getting the program to connect to my server. Getting this:

15:37:32:812 ! Aborting
15:37:32:812 ! HighLevelAsync 0
15:37:32:812 ! Abort detected
15:37:32:812 ! HighLevelAsync done
15:37:32:812 Realtime FTP Connect failed
15:37:35:812 Realtime FTP Connect attempt
15:37:35:812 ! HighLevelAsync 0
15:37:35:812 TWSocket will connect to 66.220.8.225:22
15:37:35:828 02FDB8E0 TriggerDataSent 644
15:37:35:843 >|SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_5.0|

I think the problem may be that my host requires SFTP, simple FTP won't connect. How does Cumulus deal with this issue? Obviously i could use my SFTP software to update the site but I'd rather use the program itself if possible.

Help!

Yes, it does look like it. Cumulus doesn't support SFTP.

For reference, I think the solution (with version 1.9.1) would be to create two scripts for a SFTP client to upload the files (one for realtime, one for full updates), then call these scripts from the Cumulus "Configuration|Internet|External Programs" settings.

See some details here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/SFTP

Maybe we should put a sample script in the Wiki for the full update too.

Thanks, Mark, I was wondering if that would work.
