Lost rainfall readings after error and restart

Post by mickopla »

Got up this morning and had a Mar.txt error message so i restarted Cumulus and my PC. Before the restart my rainfall total for today was 2.8mm and after it went to 0.2mm. So basically now all my rainfall readings are wrong. Can i manually change something to add the 2.6mm of lost rainfall to reflect in my daily, monthly and yearly totals ??? Other data seems to be unaffected. Thanks

The principle is the same as http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_sta ... it_to_zero - reset your start of day rain counter relative to the current value so that you end up with your desired total for today.

So basically if i subtract 2.6 from my start value which is 164.2 i should have the correct values ???

Thanks

Yes. But bear in mind that this is really a fix for the station's rain counter doing odd things. If you've had some sort of problem with Cumulus being unable to write to the log file(s), this may not be a perfect fix for all of your data.

Have been running Cumulus since last October and this is my first error like this so hopefully it will run fine from now on. Thanks for your help Steve.
