realtime.txt presstrend question

How is the value of presstrend calculated for realtime.txt? I have been watching the pressure and it has been bouncing around between 1027.9 and 1027.6 over the past 15 minutes or so, but has been pretty steady, or falling slightly. Yet the presstrend value says"+0.4". I presume Cumulus does some sort of filtering to get rid of the noise before it updates realtime.txt. What time period does Cumulus use to establish rising or falling?
