Hi guys
First off, thanks so much for all the effort so many of you have put into not only the app, but all the support and Dev that I can see goes on. I think im going to get a lot of enjoyment from running my little weather station:).
I have 2 quick questions. 1, if you access
http://www.windtracker.co.za/tracker/realtime the app works great. But, i have a sub domain
http://realtime.windtracker.co.za and the exact same content, but the page does not load any data! Do any of you know why realtime would not work on a subdomain?
Second question, what are the requirement for making the little icons appear in the gadget? I can see all of my data, but I dont get a cool little pics of clouds or rain etc...
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Mark

I can't get anything at all from either of those URLs, so I'm not sure which app you're talking about. If you mean my Silverlight application, then you need to look at the readme.txt file that came with it, where it talks about Silverlight's cross-domain access restrictions and tells you how to get around it.

Hi Steve
Sorry, typo on the first posts... the url's are
http://www.windtracker.co.za/windtracker/realtime and
http://live.windtracker.co.za
I will have a read through the readme again to see what i can find.

Mark

Have you now put a redirect in that second one to get around the problem, because both of those work fine for me?

Looks like I did.
Redirector removed.
http://live.windtracker.co.za is now staying on its domain, and stuck on loading data...
I have read through the readme, unfortunatly nothing in there about cross domains.

You're right; I'm really sorry about that
Somehow the updated readme.txt didn't get included in the zip file. No-one has pointed this out before. This is the relevant bit:
Note that if you sometimes access your web site from a URL with
and without "www" on the front, then the default Silverlight
cross-domain access restrictions will stop it working. See this
thread in the forum for what you need to do:
https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1495
The same applies, of course, if you are running Cumulus
Realtime on one domain but your realtime.txt file is held on
another domain.

You sir, are the man!
Thank you very much, it is working A-OK now.
Any ideas on the icons missing for the realtime gadget?
Thanks again
Mark

Can't really help there - that's Ib's gadget, yes? I think it uses the Cumulus-generated forecast for the pictures; do you have that enabled?
