rainfall/dayfile query

Post by bigharps »

The 'Rainfall' section of the main window shows yesterday's rain as zero. Dayfile.txt shows 11.4mm yesterday - and is correct.
The monthly & yearly totals are correct.
Where does the 'Rainfall' part of the main window get yesterday's rainfall from?
No missing lines, no other errors I can see in dayfile.txt
Suggestions please.

Re: rainfall/dayfile query

When it does the end of day 'rollover', it first writes today's total to dayfile.txt. It then recalculates yesterday's rain total, and logs a message to the diags file. It stores that value in the 'yesterday' value in today.ini, so it can read it back in if it gets restarted. Every time it gets new rain data, it writes the stored yesterday value to the 'yesterday' box on the main screen; this may all seem a little odd, and I have no idea why I did it that way.

So there is scope for the dayfile value to be different from the 'yesterday' box, but I don't know what circumstances might cause that. The first thing to do is look in the diags file for the message, and look in today.ini for the value in there.
