Noctilucent Clouds (NLC)

Post by bongo »

Hello everybody,
I hope nobody objects to me "advertising" another forum....
I'm sure that there are many weather enthusiasts who are familiar with noctilucent clouds.
To those who may not be so familiar with them, these very high clouds form at the mesopause around 82km altitude and are only visible under particular conditions through the night during the summer months in the northern hemisphere. (There is an equivalent season in the southern hemisphere through December and January if anybody is in the far south of the globe.)
I'd like to invite anyone who might be interested in learning more about these mysterious clouds to have a look at http://nlcnet.proboards.com/index.cgi
This forum is probably the worlds largest specialist group dedicated to observing noctilucent clouds. Please have a look and join in.
Best Regards,
B.
