Re: Cumulus Weather User Map Updates
Hi not sure if it's me but does the map when highlighting a station go really big and not fully display on the pop up?
I know I can fix this by using ctrl + mouse wheel but then all the other sites text sizes are out?

You mean the text in the pop-up 'speech bubble'? Yes, same here - I hadn't noticed that until now, something in the new version I think.

Actually it appears to be a change on the Google end of things.
I sent Steve an updated CSS file this morning.

Re: Cumulus Weather User Map Updates
I was a bit surprised at first when I noticed it this morning. Thought my browser was doing something strange. But then it was exactly the same on IE7. Then I thought the CSS file had been changed, but the copy I had on my server looked the same so it basically came down to some kind of change on the Google side of things.
I also noticed the CSS file I had provided had duplicate entries in it like I had loaded it twice at one point.
Now it is closer to what it should be though I have wanted to play some more as I have some other ideas... never seem to not have enough of those.

Not going to mess with IE8 until it gets closer to a real release as there does not appear to be a way to have both IE8 and IE7 on the same machine, but just for kicks what do you get when you try this link:
http://sandaysoft.com/maps/cumulus-map.xml
Does it display the data all the way down to the closing </markers> at the end of the file?

Re: Cumulus Weather User Map Updates
Any chance I can break Paul's dominance of Cumbria and get added to the map?

Re: Cumulus Weather User Map Updates
Google Chrome does not support XML display.... If you view the source of the blank page you will see the data.tomcatuk wrote:
Hi Kevin, in Google Chrome a blank page
I know firefox will display it correctly... as for IE8 .. I was just wondering if IE8 was having issues with the XML file. If it did, that would explain the problems with the map., in firefox and IE8 I just get text shown
Will have to wait until it is close to release or released to find out what the issue is.

Re: Cumulus Weather User Map Updates
OK Kev no problems, I only have IE8 running on my laptop with Vista, I did look to see if they had a "report a problem page" but I could not find one, they have a compatibility option which from memory it worked but would have to check it again to confirm or not.

Re: Cumulus Weather User Map Updates
just for info: I am running IE8 with Windows 7, and everything looks OK: map and text displays, and XML text all the way down to the </marker>.

Re: Cumulus Weather User Map Updates
Hi TNETWeather
Just noticed that the Map shows one Uassie website way off in the middle of the Pacific!
The site is Oak Flats, NSW and the location shold be Lat: 34°33'53.76"S, Long: 150°49'9.60"E
Could you also update the title of my site from Bunbury to Bunbury, Western Australia (or Bunbury, WA if that's easier)
Many thanks
Ian
