Cumulus Support

I'm not really sure why I looked at these two 'Views' today, but as you can see from the attached jpegs, Alltime records and the Selected period screens disagree on the Highest Minimum.
Alltime records is correct at 26.8 on Feb 2 this year, Selected Period shows 23.8 on Dec 12 last year. Dayfile.txt shows both these entries as the correct ones.
Where does the Selected Period window get its data?
I only looked closely as the highest min and lowest max showed 999 and -999, due to my rotten LaCrosse occasionally deciding to stop sending sensible data to today.ini at day change. Thinking of going to a Davis!
Anyway, I edited the 999s out of today's today.ini, then went looking for others I'd obviously missed earlier in dayfile.txt.
That corrected Lowest Max when I got rid of the triple nines, but Highest Min shows the temp for Dec 12, 2010, when dayfile.txt has the correct entry of 26.8 for Feb 2 this year.
I've also attached a part of dayfile.txt showing the entry for Feb 2 this year.
Any suggestions?

You may also notice the font in the Averages window are larger than those in the Alltime window,and as such it looks untidy when it doesn't fit properly. All other windows in the View dropdown are the same font as Alltime, and all words/numbers are displayed in full. It's only the Averages window that does this. I can't find any font size setting menu in Cumulus. Is there something I can do? Thanks.

The most likely explanation is that you have an error in dayfile.txt which caused Cumulus to have to stop processing at that point, so it didn't get as far as the Feb 2 entry. It should be easy to find - a blank line can be sufficient, though the latest version of Cumulus attempts to cater for more problems than 1.9.0 did. There may also be an error message giving guidance in the diags file from the time when you did this.

As for the font, it will probably be because you have your font/DPI size set to more than 100%. The 'this period' display has changed somewhat in 1.9.1 so you may well find that it works better for you, when you try it. I cannot recommend using the beta just at the moment due to a problem with a third party component.

I searchd thru dayfile.txt and found six entries where the time for a rain rate of zero was 0:44 between Dec 9 and Feb 2. All other entries for zero rain rate were 0:00, so I changed the delinquent suckers to 0:00 and, hey presto, all is well. BTW I can't read those comma delimited txt files without going crosseyed, I have to dump them into Excel and get 'em in columns!
As for the font size, why would only one window have a larger font? Am I missing something?

That's a bit odd, as the changes you say you've made wouldn't have fixed the problem you were seeing. Perhaps you unintentionally fixed the actual problem at the same time.

Using Excel to edit the Cumulus files is risky. It has a tendency to reformat things to its liking and stop Cumulus being able to understand the files. Much better to use csved or better still, Cumulus Toolbox

Presumably I accidentally used a different font on that screen.

I don't use Excel to edit the files, judt so my poor brain can see the entries properly. I always edit in notepad.
Changing those different rain times were the only changes I made - hang, I'll go change one back to 0:44 and see what happens...
Well, fancy that, you were right! Changing a time to 0:44 didn't make the This Period listing wrong. Maybe,as you said there was something else, like an extra space, or a missing comma.
