data collection

Post by johnslcut »

Hi, I have been trying to install Cumulus on a PC running XP, the beta version for download at Sandysoft site. I do not get any data collection. The station is a ProWeatherStation and it connects via USB. I set up to use the Fine Offset collection. The base station comes with easyweather. I have run this but not while Cumlus is running. The base station is sending data, I can see it when I look at the easyweather screen. I have read some of the info here and I know that the USB cable is good and that I get data to the PC. I just can not figure out how to get it to collect to Cumulus. I know that the Cumulus recognizes that it is connected because if I disconnect the base station from the PC while Cumulus is running I get an error light. Checking the error it says that the base station has been disconnected.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help.

Which build are you using.? If 983, be aware that there are some issues with this which may be the cause of your problem. If you're using Cumulus for the first time, it's best to use the 'stable' version. You may have been unfortunate, because recent beta builds prior to 983 have been pretty stable themselves.

I suspect that I am using 982(?) as I downloaded it from your site Sat Mar. 12. I will go and uninstall and then try again with the stable version. Thank you for the suggestion.

You should be OK with 982. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll have a look.
