Beaten

Post by robynfali »

Well, Mr Taxman has beaten me finally!!

I am one of those who NEED a 4WD vehicle, for my voluntary work, and just in general, so I tried and tried to ignore the fuel prices!

Until friday!, stuck £25 in the tank, less than 1/4 tank of fuel, and that was enough, so trading in my beloved Grand Vitara for a Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 SRI CDTI. I took it for a test drive yesterday, and was getting DOUBLE the MPG compared to my car!

Bittersweet, a lovely car, only 6 months older than my current, loads of power, plenty of speed, but i will miss my 4WD

Thanks Mr Taxman....thanks for NOTHING!

So the fast-rising price of crude oil (part of which can be put down to speculation due to the Libyan situation) has nothing to do with this?

not even gonna get into the politics of this, the price rise of crude is not directly linked to the price at the pumps, notwithstanding the actual fuel tax
