Wonder if anyone has tried extending the wind vane/anemometer lead
would like to extend by 7.5 meters using a RJ11 modem extension lead
so that i can put the transmitter closer to the house in the shade
would this cause problems?

Re: Extending Leads
I got spikes on my temperature plot when I tried that and did a considerable amount of research mostly covered in this thread :- https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3425 There was an earlier thread on this subject too but I think the link I've given covers most of it.

Re: Extending Leads
I have had this same setup for 2 years. No problems. You need 4 wire extension(2 for speed,2 for direction) and you need 4 wire coupler. Be sure to weatherproof the coupler.Orion wrote:Wonder if anyone has tried extending the wind vane/anemometer lead

Re: Extending Leads
Mine is extended too. I used a standard phone extension here in the US.
I added a short Piece of PVC pipe with a pipe cap to the pole to hold the junction of the extension to keep the rain off. I then used dielectric silicone grease I use on my spark plug boots for my car engine to seal the wires, I will try to take a picture of what I am talking about.
The company I bought my fine offset from suggest to limit the distance to fifty feet.
