WH3081 UK Supplier
Hi All,
Been browsing this site recently, has proved to be very useful. I'm currently a PhD. student researching into cheap wireless monitoring of buildings to asses their performance. One the properties I'm monitoring requires a weather station, mainly to collect the solar load to compare how well the solar panels installed are actually performing.
Looking around i think the WH3081 is my best option, sadly project budget is not enough for a Vantage pro plus. Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get one from in the UK and a rough cost? Tried contacting Fine Offset a few times but they seem reluctant to reply.
Cheers

Hi
Purchased my Watson W-8681 (which I believe is the same) from Waters & Stanton. I paid £86.90 including pp which was the best price at the time (early January)

Not quite; the WH3081 is the new model with solar sensors. I haven't seen it for sale anywhere in the UK yet.tadder wrote:Purchased my Watson W-8681 (which I believe is the same)

Re: WH3081 UK Supplier
The only extra feature I'm aware of that the W-8681 has above the Maplin N96GY is the atomic clock (which is pretty useless if you are going to use Cumulus as the software gets the time from the PC). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Napkins often have an offer for the N96GY at £65.tadder wrote:Hi

Oh well! win some loose some.
For future reference are 'Napkins' on line? Google search returns lots of instruction for folding square pieces of cloth.

I'll remember next time
Napkin (AKA Maplin) currently have an 'F96FY' for sale at £124.99. From the picture and spec it looks the same, so that makes me feel a bit better.

Hi rwilko
You might be iterested in the Homebuilt Sunrecorder thread. Don't worry about the early stuff. We are working on correlating the levels we measure to w/m2 with solar panels in mind.
Regards
Alan
