How do I make Cumulus download older data?

We have a fineoffset station (Branded as Scientific Sales) on a greenfield site, so we only take a laptop to it to download data every couple of weeks. The last successful download was January 19th, but that data contained two records from January 13th with wildly inaccurate data.
It has taken me a while to remove those entries and calculate the records which should have been set between the 13th and the 19th, then debug some errors in date formats (sloppy editing) which were making cumulus crash.
Today, with everything working at last, I took the laptop out to the site and it connected okay, but would only download current data.
The yesterday.ini file still shows a date of January 19. I am guessing that there might be something in the today.ini or yesterday.ini which controls how much data cumulus asks for?
The receiver is still working on 30 minute intervals*, so its memory is 2/3 full at the moment.
I know that as a last resort I could wipe everything, reinstall cumulus and start from scratch, but then I would have the bad data (24m or rain etc) again.
* See my next post in the fineoffset forum about that.
