Try Notepad ++, a free download and it highlights coding!

As Paul says, Notepad++ is your friend. I use it every day at work for coding web pages.
At home I am a Mac so use TextWrangler -- same thing really

Re: Custom Website using localweatherview.net
When you are starting, coding pages using raw HTML (instead of something like Dreamweaver), all the <td>'s <table>'s <h1>'s etc. can be so daunting. Once you appreciate that most of these 'tags' need a corresponding close tag with a preceding slash i.e. </td> or </table> it all becomes a bit clearer.
The wonderful thing about Notepad++ is that when you click on a <td> (for example), it will also highlight the corresponding required </td>. If the closing </td> doesn't exist in your code, Notepad++ won't highlight the <td>. So once you've finished your coding, clicking on each '<tag>', Notepad++ will highlight the closing tag.

For those using Firefox, might I suggest installing the HTML Validator add-on by Marc Gueury, from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... validator/
It does an error check on each page loaded and shows 'errors' and 'warnings' in an area on the right-hand side of the status line.
Enables you to error-check immediately after uploading, making the job of debugging html a whole lot quicker and easier.
Cheers,
