Average temperature

In Cumulus, I have often wondered just what is average temperature? How is it calculated, what does it represent, when is it reset? It may sound simple to some, but I don't quite get it.

The one on the main screen? It's the average (mean) for today, calculated by taking a sample once a minute.

So it samples the high and low for the day each minute, then divides by 2?

No, it samples the temperature once a minute and averages that over the day so far.
