Dayfile.txt entry not created

Hi Steve,
For some unknown reason my dayfile.txt was not updated at midnight with yesterday's data even though the timestamp is 00:00 12/2/11. First time this has happened. I suspect I may have caused it by deleting the blank line at the end of the file.
How can yesterday's data be generated? The diagnostic file is attached.

If you deleted the end of line characters, then it would append the entry to the previous day's entry - is that not what it did? If it did, you just need to put an end of line in at the appropriate point. If not, the only way to get it to create the entry automatically is to 'rewind' your data to before midnight, with Cumulus stopped, including editing today.ini etc. The easiest way to do this is to use the latest set of files from the backup folder, if they're not too old.

Now that I've seen the diags file, I can see that it did the rollover correctly, so I'd expect the entry to be appended to the previous day. If not, you can use the backup from 16:39 yesterday to rewind.

It was appended to the end of the previous day's record. Silly sod I am. I should have thought to check but as I haven't had any breakfast yet I'll put it down to lack of caffeine and marmalade!
Thanks Steve.

Thanks to Davids summary programme, I have noticed that I don't have a dayfile entry for December 20th 2010. Is there anyway I can generate this now?
The Dec10log.txt data is all OK for 20th.

I've noticed that I have a few missing; in my case that probably comes from being the first to test new versions

. You can create the dayfile.txt entry from the data in the Dec10log, just extract the highs and lows from it. It's possible that there are a few items you can't get from there, but I think most should be available.

Sounds good. I'll sort using excel and see how it goes.
Come to think of it I think I had a data corruption around that time so maybe that was the cause. Had a missing "return" in the data for December.

Some time ago I started to check the Monxxlog.txt and dayfile.txt at the end of each month for any obvious corruption and missing data.

OK....I've created a reading to go in the dayfile.txt for 20th Dec 2011 but I am missing 3 figures and don't know where to get them from.
1015.8,09:16,2.4,20:57,2.2,20.2,WindRun,HiAvWSpd,TofPrevious,90,15:28, - part of line
Anyone tell me how to calculate the data?
I have the day imported to Excel.

Take the 'current wind speed' for each entry for the day, multiply it by the period covered by that entry (using the same units for time), to give a distance; add them all up.
HiAvWSpd,TofPrevious
Find the maximum value of 'current wind speed', use that and its corresponding timestamp.
