What URL are you trying to go to? http://www.eirahomer11.webspace.virginmedia.com/ gives a 403 (forbidden) because you don't have an index file in your root. http://www.eirahomer11.webspace.virginm ... m/weather/ works fine.

Re: How do you get the images?
Okaaaay, it is there. Just went back through previous posts here and clicked on the link I supplied to you all and there it was all the time, waving at me and having a good laugh at my stupidity!
Quite what has gone on I have no idea. I had the page saved in my bookmarks for easy access. I've never changed anything in there yet all of a sudden it was directing me to another page that I couldn't see!
I spent half the night last night deleting everything and starting all over again thinking there was a problem.
I think there must be ghosts messing with my laptop or something. It's either that or everything is conspiring against me to make me look daft. They don't need to conspire against me, I'm quite capable of doing that all by myself!
I think it's set to sea level but I could be wrong. In the station configuration I have set our location at 110m ASL, which is what we are. Is that correct? The pressure given on Cumulus reads the same as on the display but I'm not yet au fait with what's considered normal and what's low/high. Still reading books on weather! Any guidance is much appreciated though.

Maybe the pressure is wrong I'm not sure but it's very low be sure to set it to sea level

Re: How do you get the images?
You should currently be reading a sea-level pressure of about 1009, but you have 991. You need to set the relative pressure via the console, as described on page 10 of the manual (step 3). If you set it to 1009 (assuming you do it not long after I post this) you shouldn't be far off.Eira wrote:I think it's set to sea level but I could be wrong. You'll need to restart Cumulus after you've set the pressure.

Lol! Ghosts most definitely! Partner was just as frustrated as I was and ended up going to bed and leaving me to it in the end. He couldn't understand how it wasn't working. He went over it all again and again! Everything was in place and where it should be so he couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Neither of us thought about the bookmark being wrong! Doh!

Re: How do you get the images?
Okay, I've done that. I'm guessing I should have found out what the local reading was in my area and put it onto the display when I had the station to make the reading correct? The manual isn't the most helpful in the world. It tells you how to change the display and that's about it! The rest is guesswork and help from people like yourselves! Thanks!Steve

Yes, that's right. I looked up the current pressure in the West Midlands just now to get the 1009 figure.Eira wrote:Okay, I've done that. I'm guessing I should have found out what the local reading was in my area and put it onto the display when I had the station to make the reading correct?
Yes, it's not much use, I agree. The manual isn't the most helpful in the world. It tells you how to change the display and that's about it! The rest is guesswork and help from people like yourselves!

It's all a big learning curve. Feels a bit like trying to learn a foreign language sometimes using just a dictionary! Thank you very much for all the help and support. Would still be tearing my hair out I think if you hadn't have helped out!

Re: How do you get the images?
A quick question.
As I had to re-install cumulus, I lost all my data leading up to re-install. Like a dope, I didn't save the data first! Doh!
As I also have easy weather installed on my pc, I was wondering if I could maybe use the data collected on that? Is this possible? I had a lovely -11 oC as a minimum temp when the weather went bitterly cold. It probably sounds really daft but I'd like to keep little bits of data like that! At the moment I'm getting the green "new record" flashing at me all of the time, which it's obviously going to do until it settles down again.

Uninstalling and installing doesn't touch the data. Your old data will still be there, hidden away by Windows. See this FAQ for details: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#I_can. ... a_files.21Eira wrote:As I had to re-install cumulus, I lost all my data leading up to re-install. There's no 'official' import facility, but I know that someone does have a way to do it. I'm not sure how 'complete' the import is, or how much manual work is involved for the person in question, which is why I don't really like to 'volunteer' him. He may offer of his own accord. As I also have easy weather installed on my pc, I was wondering if I could maybe use the data collected on that? Is this possible? Had a look for that but I can't find any folder that is called virtual, even though my pc is set up to 'show' hidden files. Hmmm, looks like I may have to just accept that I will have to start again.Steve

What does puzzle me though is that the base station stores all the data until the memory is full. I remember clearing the memory just before we went away towards the end of January but since then I haven't touched it. Even though I lost all my cumulous files when I uninstalled and re-installed it, I'm surprised I dont have data at least from the time I reset the memory. All I have is data from the time it was re-installed. Is there a reason for that?
I live in hope! Ah well, maybe it's a closely guarded secret! There's no 'official' import facility, but I know that someone does have a way to do it. You don't need to clear the station memory, by the way, and it's better if you don't (less chance of a corruption). The station just carries on anyway, re-using the 'oldest' memory locations.
