Those gauges work by reading the realtime.txt file, and you don't seem to have one -
http://www.sarmstrong.karoo.net/realtime.txt gives a 404. Do you have 'realtime' FTP enabled in the internet settings?

Hi thanks for the reply,
Not sure which boxes to tick or how to make sure realtime.txt is uploaded
Thanks again.

Tick the 'Realtime enabled' box on the internet settings screen (as described in the help for that screen).

It shouldn't matter that you're running Windows 7. Hopefully you didn't install under Program Files (x86)...
One possible cause of the realtime.txt file not appearing on the server would be if you had configured your 'ftp directory' incorrectly in the internet settings. What have you put in there? It looks to me like you just need to leave it blank for karoo.net.
If you think you've got it configured correctly, you can turn on ftp logging from the configuration menu, which will produce a realtimeftplog.txt file which should show what's happening.

Hello Steve

and Everyone ......
This is the same problem that actually got me nutz for all day long, since in the ftplog would only show as follow:
16:28:29:210 ! HighLevelAsync 0
16:28:29:210 TWSocket will connect to xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
16:28:29:406 ! Data Session opened (Put)
16:28:29:406 057A33C0 TriggerDataSent 1596
16:28:29:406 057A2CB0 TriggerDataSent 756
16:28:29:599 >|553 Can't open that file: No such file or directory|
which doesn't say much at all, nor what the real problem is .....
Now only way to get around this like Steve said is to Leave BLANK the Directory in Internet Settings, i use
Bluehost as provider.
Thnxs Steve for awesome program !!!

It really depends on how useful the messages are from your ftp server. That 553 error is coming from your server, for example. Wouldn't it have been nice if it had given the file name that it didn't like, rather than saying "that file"?
But generally, if there is an error in the realtime ftp log that says 'no such file', the cause is usually that you have specified the wrong ftp directory.

You might want to consider changing the realtime ftp interval. Fine Offset stations only update every 48 seconds, so a 3 second realtime upload is probably a bit too often.

Hi all again,
Changed time interval to 60 secs . just got to get a big pole to put outdoor sensors on now it's shoved in a flower tub at the minute
thanks again for all your helpful replies

Definitely i agree with you, but as for me as for my work i love to have trace of what the error is

so if one of my servers encounters an error or the user does on the log will show exactly what happened and when with all directory involved

this is my view to give service, but as is surely another story ......
