We are very lucky in the UK. I have great sympathy for those living with extreme weather.

Woke up to some "good" news this morning, no reported deaths, but one birth, a girl, born in an evacuation centre.

Gotta say well done to ALL involved, the authorities and indeed the population of the area, also I learned that the Emergency Services were NOT sent out during it, it's good to know Aussie colleagues were not putting their lives at risk during the worst of it.

Actually Rob, Three babies were born as Yasi was raging overhead. Good to see no loss of life and the population actually increase during a natural disaster for a change. They breed em tough up north.

Gum trees reproduce better in a bushfire
Murray cod reproduce better in a flood
Queenslanders reproduce better in a cyclone

Its just the Aussie way! ;)
