Changes to WU

Talk about anything that doesn't fit elsewhere - PLEASE don't put Cumulus queries in here!

Changes to WU

Post by tjaliwalpa »

Just went to my WU data and noticed a new (and I think improved) layout for WU.

I wonder if this is what has broken my 5 Day Forecast page that feeds from WU? Seems to have messed up a few other members forecast pages too.

Most likely is. And I was thinking a few days back " Why don't I include some info from WU on my site :?:" Well now I no why. Would have been doing it all over again.

Bob,
I agree, it's a definite improvement, less clutter in my opinion.

Cheers

So far, I am not too pleased with the new format. Seems to be poorly organized and cluttered with less relevant information.

I noticed they don't mention Cumulus on the Rapid Fire page.

According to Ken True on http://saratoga-weather.org/scripts.php, the WU-forecast.php script is having to be rewritten to accomodate the WU changes. Should be posted on that site soon.

Thanks for the link. I have implemented it but notice that there is a random error in the metric version of the WU pages. For some days there is no amount against mm in the Chance of Precipitation text, but in imperial it is shown. It's not missing every time, can't really determine yet if it is just for small amounts.

I'm trying to find where I can report it to WU. In the meantime I have left mine on imperial.
Many thanks
Helen

It seems Wunderground has made a mess of several conditions the Dutch version is a disaster by example 'Gemiddelde windsnelheid: 3 °C.' -> English tranlation: Average windspeed 3 °C.

I've seen Dutch forums that it was reported, but the Dutch version of Wunderground is a mess since january, I think there are more issues hopefully they will be solved.

Oh dear. Looks like it's broke again. After implementing Kens latest script, it was working up until today. But this evening the forecast is only showing three periods!
