PC No longer recognizing W-8681

Post by Mark19 »

Ok, so this morning I accidentally knocked my console of the shelf. The Console was still displaying data, however all firelds in cumulus were at 0. I tried restarting cumulus, then restarting my pc, still nothing. I changed the USB port it was plugged into, and windows didn't say anything about installing drivers, cumulus was still showing 0 s, and EastWeather wouldn't pick it up either. I tried plugging it into my other pc and still nothing.

I then decided to open up the console I checked the board and nothing seems to be loose or had fallen off. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

Try a complete reset. (Disconnect USB and batteries.)

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

Thanks for the suggestion, but sadly it didn't work. I left the batteries out for about 20 mins the same with the USB cable.

Well it seems as though the USB port on the console isnt completely dead. I took the batteries out and just started wiggling the usb cable around inside the port, and the backlight was coming on (Power from the USB Port).

Hi Mark.

Whip the case off and have a look at the circuit board, especially around the USB area.

Look for cracks, breaks , etc. Use a magnifying glass.

Good luck mate
