Data Timer Enhancement or Not?

Post by wd40 »

I was thinking about an enhancement that would show a timer indicating the time past since Cumulus received data from the console. In my Fine offset it would count up to 48 seconds then reset to zero if the console is working right.

i thought I would post this as question instead of filing an enhancement request to see if anyone else thought it would be useful? I might just be a pot watcher.

For Fine Offset stations, unfortunately Cumulus has no (reliable) way of knowing that the data has changed, so it couldn't do a 48-second countdown. It reads the data every 10 seconds, as shown at the right hand end of the status bar.

Thanks Steve for the answer. I was thinking the data clock at the bottom was the time since sending data to wunderground.
