FTP 500 Error

Gettin problems connecting to the FTP, both in cumulus, also via fireftp for firefox, so I am presuming this is a server side issue, but wouldn't mind confirmation

Yes, 500 is a general error code returned by the server.

Yeah i thought so, just wanted to check, have raised a ticket with them, i can connect to the control panel behind the website, no problems there, so it has to be an FTP issue

There's a possibility that it could also be caused by firewall issues at your end; but more likely a server problem, I think.

how do i check mate? the firewall side?

If you haven't changed anything on your firewall recently, then it's unlikely to be that.

i havent, but upon disabling the firewall running cumulus, guess what, it went straight through, i only looked because WU wasn't being updated either, so it had to be the computer then, but as you have said, I haven't changed anything, bloody software pain in the backside (my firewall, not cumulus lol)
