Maplin - Above and Beyond

Just as my WH1081 approached the end of the warranty period my anemometer seized so I made arrangements to return it. I thought that I would also use this opportunity to return the logger console as, whilst not broken, the indoor humidity was reading quite a bit lower than actual (minor irritation). Today I received from Maplin’s a brand new complete station, giving me spares for many other items. :D

I’ve always felt Maplin’s to be a good company, in particular, paying for postage to return items etc. This quality of customer service deserves recognition

Very Nice
Have bought both my weather stations from them can be a bit expensive at times
the WH1081 is no longer on there site so I wonder if they sent you the more expensive WH1080 (N96FY)
So you now have a spare Anemometer, rain-gauge, wind vane and more poles as well ?

well done Maplin

PS There is a WH1081 Receiver on Ebay

When I returned my 2nd F/O rebadged machine, thought i was going to have trouble with them, but nope, "very sorry for the inconvenience sir" was what i got, others could take a few hints off them!

I have bought things from Maplin since they were in one room in a house in Southend-on-Sea in Essex. Their service has always been excellent. I quite expected things to deteriorate as they got bigger .

Yes, I agree with all the compliments for Maplin. My W-8681 failed in the dieing days of its warranty last year and Maplin replaced it with a new one. Sadly they did require me to return the faulty one so I did not get to keep the working bits for spares!
