Yes .... and no :)

The public_html folder is your website 'root' directory. You can have as many folders / directories (sub folders / sub directories) as you require.
Would that be causing any src problems with the file wz_jsgraphics.js or others?
I have "mouse over" problems with the other gauges. Is this related?
YES ! - the instructions tell you what directories you need to copy / create - if they are not there .......
The files are there!
Regarding 'public_html', putting Cumulus in your 'root' limits you for any future growth / expansion - because Cumulus creates an index.htm file, which automatically becomes the 'main' page of that directory (think site).
I've already added a "Maps" page, this would mean that my site has grown.
You will notice that many have created [root]/weather/ directory where they load Cumulus files.
This enables to build your 'home' site with all your pictures of the cats etc. and creare page links to your weather/.. site ;)
I've put pictures in (map_images) for my maps page, and this works fine.
pictures of the cats etc.
Sorry, I don't know what this means.

With my "maps" page, I upload this with Frontpage, and works fine, however, if it has any webtags in it like
<p class="credits"><br />
Page updated <#update><br />
powered by
<a href="http://sandaysoft.com/products/cumulus" target="_blank">Cumulus</a>
v<#version> (<#build>)
it won't put the information in. How dose this happen, and can I get Cumulus to do it?

Ah, I meant the fact 000webhost isn't a good choice. that's the point I was talking about. Sorry for the confusion. :p
That's OK. Thank you for your time. I think it is not prooving to be a good choice because 000webhost are not letting my Cumulus forum friends view my site out of Australia! You know I had only signed up just before I read the FREE hosting was available for Cumulus readers :bash:

We can see your website now.

boxover.js seems to be 'empty' (0 bytes), that's why the mouseovers aren't working.
With my "maps" page, I upload this with Frontpage, and works fine, however, if it has any webtags in it like .....
Don't upload with Frontpage !

Tell Cumulus => Internet Settings => filesthe PC location of your 'maps' template, and tick 'process', and ftp, and give the name and location of the website file.

That's it!!!!! The file on Frontpage was fine, and I had uploaded it......so I've uploaded again (with Frontpage) and it works a treat. You'd make a great dedective. Well done!

I've tried, but it doesn't upload. I must be doing something wrong. In the local filenames I click on browse and find the file (should be fine), but in the .....................don't worry. Just did it.
I hadn't included the main root folder that ooowebhost wants me to put the files in (public_html/map.htm)
IT'S FIXED. YAH!........'sigh'....but after all that, the realtime gauges still don't work (but am still so happy about everything else, thank's beetlejuice).
Do you think if I get Cumulus to upload the realtime.txt file like I did with the maps.htm that it might work then?........

... if I get Cumulus to upload the realtime.txt file ...
You NEED realtime.txt for the lower wind dials (swf file input).

In Cumulus Internet Options you should see tick boxes for realtime (file) upload, and it's periodocity.

Now time for bed (06:27 local)

Man your'e stay up later than me! My latest is 04:30!
Go to Bed, and don't read this until you've had a coffee in the morning.
I've done the "Enable realtime" with a realtime interval of 48 seconds (I use a FineOffset). Still doesn't work, that's why I thought I would have to put it in the Files page and get Cumulus to FTP it, but have chosen it not to Process, as I didn't think there was anything to process. I'll see how it goes.

The usual reason for realtime.txt not uploading, but 'normal' files uploading, is that you have the wrong ftp directory set in Cumulus, because they are uploaded in different ways.

How are they uploaded differently?

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website

For 'normal' files, it changes directory on the ftp server, and then sends the file just using the terminal file name, e.g. my ftp directory is configured as 'sanday.org.uk/weather'. So the 'normal' files get uploaded like this:

CWD sanday.org.uk/weather
STOR index.htm
STOR today.htm

For the realtime.txt file, it doesn't change directory, and it sends the file using the complete path, e.g.

STOR sanday.org.uk/weather/realtime.txt

So if you get the directory wrong, the CWD fails, but the file uploads still work. You might happen to be in the correct directory already so you don't notice a problem. In the realtime.txt case, if that directory doesn't exist, the STOR command fails and the file doesn't get uploaded.

You could turn on ftp logging and see if there are any errors in ftplog.txt or realtimeftplog.txt.

I have attached a screen shot of my settings below.
I have checked my realtimeftplog.txt and seems fine to me (does this look normal?)

And my ftplog.txt looks fine too.

I think I'll try uploading a fresh gaugesT.htm file from your site, as I have made some changes. Perhaps that is the problem.
Thanks for your help Steve, I'll keep trying.

Ok, just uploaded a new copy of gaugesT.htm from the "originals" folder, but the gauges still don't work.
Bed time now, I'll chat to you in 12 hours time when I'm on my lunch break! :geek:

Looks OK, and http://mickinmoulden.comze.com/realtime.txt doesn't give a 404, but a blank page. So I suspect the problem is that your web server doesn't allow .txt files.

Thanks Steve for sorting that out. I'll have to not worry about it/delete the feature/get a new host.

Meanwhile I'm going to give 000.webhost a forum kick up the bum for telling porky pies......

Steve, do me/us a favour and put www.ooowebhost.com on the "Not compatible" list in http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Webspace
Thanks again.

Just got the reply from ooo.webhost.com. They don't do txt or .exe file uploads unless you upgrade from the FREE account.
