Realtime wind data not working on website
The gauges are not working on my page: http://www.mickinmoulden.comze.com/gauges.htm. I have Realtime enabled with an interval of 60 seconds. All my files on the website have to be put in a "public_html" folder.
Can anyone help with this please?

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
Your site says 'under review', it looks like free hosting? Often, free hosting doesn't allow .txt files to be served, as crazy as that sounds.

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
The message on the front page says they are checking your web pages. They say they get a lot of abuse. This is what I see on your site.
Once they've checked out your web content they'll email you and make your site public.Website Under Review
You are seeing this page because the system administrator of 000webhost.com is currently checking this website for malicious content. This redirect page will be removed once we finish manually checking all files on this account. Since we check over 100 websites per day, it can take about 2-4 hours to complete. If you are the owner of this website, you will get an email confirmation once it's done. If you are a visitor, please come back later.
www.000webhost.com is the most popular free web hosting provider, and as such, suffers from abusers. Around 5% of users sign up here just to start hacking or phishing websites or causing other problems. So, in order to survive, we must monitor what our users are hosting.
We are sorry for the inconvenience, but checking all content manually is the only way to provide you with the most secure and reliable service. If you find any illegal websites on our network, you can report it here.

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
While I'm trying to fix my problem I an constantly checking my pages (including before I posted and after) and have never seen it say 'under review', I even just clicked on the link I provided and it worked fine for me (apart from the realtime data).steve wrote:Your site says 'under review', it looks like free hosting? And it is free hosting.

Ditto (under review)
As for file types ... their FAQ says:
dbimages, javascript files etc.
As for file types ... their FAQ says:
Until they 'let us in' - have you checked that you have all the 'support' files uploaded ?Do you have any file size or file type limits?
No, we do not have any file size limits and you may upload any files with any extensions.
However, we reserve a right to remove files larger than 5 MB, if some day we will start running out of disk space (this has never been done before).
dbimages, javascript files etc.

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
This is so strange, once again of gone back to my webpage, and everything runs fine. Every page, except the gauge page, and only because the realtime feature isn't working. Maybe it's blocked by country?
Here is another linked that I've just checked as fine and working correctly : http://www.mickinmoulden.comze.com/index.htm
Perhaps pasting it into your browser might work differently?
Even if you can't see it from your end, and the site says "you may upload any files with any extensions", what would the problem be......or do you think that they allow all file type extensions....except txt.?

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
As they handle php and mysql, it is very unlikely that they have a 'ban' on .txt (but then again ....)Until they 'let us in' - have you checked that you have all the 'support' files uploaded ?
dbimages, javascript files etc.

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
I do have to put my files in a public_html folder. Would that be causing any src problems with the file wz_jsgraphics.js or others?
I have "mouse over" problems with the other gauges. Is this related?
This is some of the code:
<!-- Modified wind gauges for 'box' mouseover -->
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td align="center"><b>Wind Direction</b></td><td align="center"><b>Wind Speed</b></td><td align="center"><b>Wind Distribution</b></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="33%" align="center">
<img src="images/compass.png" name="Compass" alt="Wind Compass" title="header=[Wind From] body=[<table cellpadding=3 style='font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica; font-size: 9px; color: #000055;'><tr><td><font color=red><b>Current heading: 45°</b></font></td></tr><tr><td><font color=blue><b>10 Min Avg: 153° (SSE)</b></font></td></tr></table>] delay=[1000]"/>
</td>
Everything that is underlined is what appears in the pop up! This happens with all the gauges, except the realtime ones at the bottom which just have the mouse hover saying "o mph" and "0" for the wind direction. I've checked the code by viewing the source of other weather pages and they are the same.

Perhaps contact DAJ (David) and take up his offer on free hosting.

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
I've tried 000webhost myself and I have to admit they are rather horrible. You're better off getting hosting from daj or even another free web host. Looks like your site is still "under review", so I believe my point is proven. :p

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
Yes .... and noI do have to put my files in a public_html folder.
The public_html folder is your website 'root' directory. You can have as many folders / directories (sub folders / sub directories) as you require.
YES ! - the instructions tell you what directories you need to copy / create - if they are not there .......Would that be causing any src problems with the file wz_jsgraphics.js or others?
I have "mouse over" problems with the other gauges. Is this related?
Regarding 'public_html', putting Cumulus in your 'root' limits you for any future growth / expansion - because Cumulus creates an index.htm file, which automatically becomes the 'main' page of that directory (think site).
You will notice that many have created [root]/weather/ directory where they load Cumulus files.
This enables to build your 'home' site with all your pictures of the cats etc. and creare page links to your weather/.. site

Re: Realtime wind data not working on website
Yes, I may be better off getting hosting from David, as I'm sure it is fantastic, but at the moment I don't think it will make any difference to people viewing my site here in Palmerston (and perhaps Australia) as there is no problem. It is prooving a hasle for those trying to help me in other countries though. This seems to be the only problem at the moment.jlp09550 wrote:I've tried 000webhost myself and I have to admit they are rather horrible. Ah, I meant the fact 000webhost isn't a good choice. that's the point I was talking about. Sorry for the confusion. :pMickinMoulden wrote:Yes, I may be better off getting hosting from David, as I'm sure it is fantastic, but at the moment I don't think it will make any difference to people viewing my site here in Palmerston (and perhaps Australia) as there is no problem.
