Does AvgSpeedMinutes=N affext the peak gust interval
Could I just double check. If I set AvgSpeedMinutes=2 I am assuming the peak gust is still calculated over the default 10 minutes? Is that right?

Yes; there's no option to change the 10 minute 'recent max gust' interval.

Thanks - I think 10 min is a pretty good choice for that and I wouldn't want to change it.
