Memory not clearing

Done a search for this but didn't find anything.

Do you have to clear the memory manually on a fine offset station or should it clear when cumulus is started up.

There is no need to clear the memory on a fine offset station the oldest data will get overwritten when full
The station can store 4080 sets of weather data if you have a data log interval of 10mins then it will hold approx 1 months data
Cumulus just reads the data from the memory
The dial is just showing you how full the memory is

The amount of data available for download (if required). It shows the proportion of memory with data in it.

So can you download that data or does cumulus do that on a restart

When Cumulus starts up, it downloads the data from the logger that it missed while it wasn't running.

Got you so am I right in that the memory dial just shows how much has been stored before a restart of Cumulus and can be cleared by selecting clear on the station screen

It's best not to clear the memory, it is just likely to cause problems.

No matter how many times you restart cumulus the memory dial will show what has been stored since you put batteries in the station or last cleared it which there is no need to do, best just to ignore it.
