Fine Offset WH 3081 with Luminosity/Solar

Post by Fenshome »

Just came back from the shope where I bought my weather station recently, and noticed that Fine Offset WH 3081 now comes with solar radiation detector which will measure luminosity ( Illuminance range: 0-300,000Lux.) will Cumulus be taking this onboard?

Hi

Leading Edge and Jaycar Electronics own them, Here's their link which give prices and you can mail order http://jaycar.com.au/productResults.asp ... SUBMIT.y=0

There sold as a DigiTech XC0348. I wished that I had waited a few more months for the upgraded version. I guess that was why they were on sale before Christmas to get rid of old stock.

Interesting, I'll have to have a look at them as the ones I looked at had the solar panel only for battery charging, not the uv/lum sensor.

Have to drop in and have another look.

More info.

That info shown on the Jaycar site is the solar powered version, but the one I saw in the Leading Edge Electronics shop was similar, but stated on the box that it had luminosity as stated previously and was the same price.

I see there is a Leading Edge store in Melton (VIC) not far from me. I'll have to drop in and have a chinwag....

Thanks

Synewave

Read your link. My feeling is that there many not be a special sensor but they are using the solar panel its self. But that would not be very accurate. Like to get my hands on it and have a close look. It could be a very small semiconductor combined into the substrate of the solar panel, which may not be that obvious.

Jaycar NZ is showing the XC0348 as the old 1081...not solar....old stock maybe.
$249 is way too much too.

Altronics is selling the WH3081 under their own product code of X7062A. That model is the one with solar charging, Lux and UV sensors. About the same price as Jaycar's DigiTech XC0348.
