Steve,

The way you've been treated is very disappointing. I don't see how you could have missed any emails from them and even if you had they should have chased you up.

Let's hope your efforts are rewarded and Cumulus gets due acknowledgement. Hopefully we won't have long to wait but if another month or so goes by with no news I will write to the Met Office again.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

I assume they're working with another (commercial) developer. I don't think they've really grasped the concept that I'm doing this in my spare time.

They're employees of the MoD Steve. If they're anything like the ones I know they probably don't grasp very much at all!

You'll get your reward in heaven. ;)
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

It seems that the WOW developers are indeed working with other software and Cumulus is being excluded from the beta testing. I guess we'll just have to wait until the site goes live and get it working ourselves. I'm reasonably confident that the code I've written will work with little or no tweaking. They may have done some changes as a result of the beta testing, however, so there might be a few things to sort out before it works fully.

I am aware of at least one other piece of weather software ;) ;) which is testing this right now and has two UK based beta testers but as yet there has been no information on how it is going. (It's not me BTW as I dont run the latest version of this s/w at present ;) ;) )

I suspect they just got tired of me pointing out that I do this in my spare time and I would get around to it when I could. It's no big deal. I know that other weather station software developers have been involved from the beginning; I'm not kidding myself that I was in any kind of privileged position
