Negative Rainfall?

Now that my new station has settled down and some results are beginning to accumulate I notice I have a graph for Daily Rain.
At the moment it is reading both plus rainfall (entirely understandable) and negative rainfall to the tune of -0.01 .
What on earth is negative rainfall? And how do you measure it? It seems to imply that during night when no one is looking moisture is leaving the ground and zipping back up into the clouds. There just has to be another explanation surely?
And one further question before I risk becoming a nuisance, is there any way of adjusting the forecast at the top of the display. At the moment everyone from Met Office to my little Oregon display in the bedroom is convinced we are in for a sunny day. However Cumulus is hedging its bets with "Showery early, improving."
The touchscreen on my NY6GY outfit is also predicting sunny weather so if Cumulus is taking its cue from that, then something needs to be altered maybe?
Otherwise delighted with Cumulus. Huge improvement on Easy Weather.

You can edit your daily rain totals in dayfile.txt.
You can try tweaking the forecast by adjusting the pressure settings on the station settings screen, but note that it's for entertainment only. If it doesn't produce a good forecast for you, ignore it. It doesn't use the forecast from the station, the station doesn't make that available.

Sorry to be a pain but my negative rainfall is there everyday(today -0.06) and the figure seems to return even after actual rainfall clears it for the day!
I have looked at the dailyfile.txt and the feb11.txt and cant see a -0.06 to change it.
any ideas?
regards

Please zip up the diags folder and attach it, along with your today.ini and feb11log.txt files.

Your today.ini is corrupt:
Code: Select all
[Rain]
High=0
HTime=00:00
Start=0.0590551197528839
Yesterday=0.0490551218390465

It has all kinds of other strange things in it. You can either attempt to tidy it up, or just delete it (with Cumulus stopped). It would mean you might get a few odd readings for today to begin with, but it would eventually sort itself out.
A related problem is that your station rain counter is currently zero, but it was at 0.06 earlier today. Similarly, yesterday it was at 0.01 at one time, and then became zero again. This is why your rain total is doing odd things.

I think the best thing will just be to keep an eye on it for a few days and see what happens. It's as if it keeps getting reset somehow, but this would normally require the power to be disconnected at the transmitter.
