Cumulus Support

Hi

From what I can ascertain Cumulus only retrieve realt-time station data. If Cumulus is closed down, will it retrieve the stored data in Station memory when restarted from where it was shut down and continue on? There-by no gaps in data collected. Am I correct on this.

Correct, assuming your weather station has a data logger built in. I am not familiar with your model.

I've done some googling and it appears your station is a rebranded FineOffset style station so it has a data logger.

Your only limitation is the memory in the station. It has 4800 memory slots to store data befor it starts over writing -- so Cumulus needs to connect to get the data periodically. if the data log interval is set to 5 minutes you can store about 2 weeks of data before it over writes

Mine is setup for 15min which normally last over a month.

So from what you are saying is that it's real-time normally,but will retrieve data from the station datalogger from the last real-time acquisition. eg 10:00am last real-time and will download from 10:15am from the Station datalogger till current then real-time there after. Or does it always retrieve data from the Statation memory?

When Cumulus is connected to the station it will read the data every 10 seconds or so and use this for realtime data. However your station only updates it's data every 48 seconds. Cumulus simply reads it more often to catch the most recent data.

The station will then store a snapshot of the data reading each 15 minutes.

If Cumulus is not connected your station will continue to store a snapshot each 15 minutes. When cumulus is then connected it will read each memory slot it missed, in effect getting the data as it was each 15 mins.

It is important to have your station and cumulus both set to the same data logging interval -- 15 mins in your case
