I've been running one of the Maplin systems for the last year, along side Cumulus.
I also had a separate system in my kitchen showing the temperature outside - handy to know what the temperature is before heading outside with the dog! This second sensor has stopped working and since I have a spare Maplin touch screen display I'm wondering if I can utilise that to receive and just display info from the WH1081?
I have a feeling (but I can't find the details at the moment) that as the touch screen receives info from the transmitter, it then erases that info from the transmitter. Is that is right? I don't want to jepodise my nicely running existing system.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
I can assure you that running two consoles with one set of sensors offers no problems. I having been doing it for about a year. Both consoles will quite happily receive data from the same transmitter (every 48 seconds).

That should work no problem, nothing is sent back to the transmitter. Several people on the forum also run two consoles from the same transmitter.

Yes, I'm doing that ATM - running two versions of my software on separate computers.mcrossley wrote:That should work no problem, nothing is sent back to the transmitter. Several people on the forum also run two consoles from the same transmitter.
On a separate note, it's also perfectly possible to run two complete weather stations independently, though it's a bit tricky to persuade the second console to lock on to the right transmission. But once locked it works separately from the first station with no problem.

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

Fantastic! Glad that I was mistaken, I will get the spare display out of the box and get it set up.
Thank you.
Thank you.
