Guys
got a fine offset for crimbo, had it working in its simplistic form since xmas day
Today (30th) i got round to setting it up on my pc, its connects and reads live data from the station in the garden all nicely in cumulus great stuff
I then went out for an hour after plugging my display console from the usb, and hoped that when i returned i could re plug it in and it would download the missing data, this didnt seem to happen
I then un plugged the station from the usb and bought the sensors indoors and simulated some extreme weather with a hairdrier!! expecting to see my newly recorded 40c temp if i waited ten minutes or so before plugging it back in
The station when i tap its screen shows me the high of 40c, but the cumulus software doesnt seem to download it.
I then fired up easy weather and this seems to download the data i expect cumulus to read
I set the poll period using easy weather to 10 mins to match the cumulus settings as detailed in the install doc
Any clues?
Thanks

Did you stop Cumulus before unplugging the station, and then plug the station back in again before starting Cumulus again? The station must be plugged in all the time Cumulus is running.

Good question, i may have been a bit slack...
If I had unplugged it whilst it was running, would it not go back and check the stations history files as it would simply look at the timestamp of when the software was last run being later?

Yes, when you start Cumulus, it will download any data that was logged since you last closed it down (note: not since you unplugged the station). If you did close Cumulus and restart it later, then that should have happened. Are you saying that you did stop Cumulus before you carried out your test, and then start it again later, after you had plugged the station in? If so, please zip up the diags folder and attach it.guesswhatigotforxmas wrote:If I had unplugged it whilst it was running, would it not go back and check the stations history files as it would simply look at the timestamp of when the software was last run being later?

Thanks for taking time to reply
You have fixed it for me!
It was my misunderstanding about how the unplugging effects the data
Thanks again, great work!

The station is best left plugged in permanently, whether or nor Cumulus is running. Plus the computer (when running) powers the station, prolonging battery life.

Re: fine offset question - not reading offline data
Hi there, another W-8681 newbie here. Yes it was another Christmas present.
I have found Cumulus v1 reasonably easy to get working, it certainly gives a lot more info than the software that came with the station.
I seem to be unable to use the data recorded for a couple of days before I installed Cumulus on the New Years Day. The data is still on my station, and Easyweather will read it, but I can't seem to get Cumulus to go back to the 28th of December. Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply, no I hadn't got that far down the FAQ. I'll give it a shot.
