Hi Steve
I am not sure where to put this subject. Would it be possible to have buttons rather than the menu to control daily graphs?
I understand that the manufacturer of the stations has not given you an open source code to control funcions such as erasing hardware data, setting alarms etc.
My best regards to the Orkneys (I assume thats where you are based).

Hi Steve,
With Easyweather, you can set some things on the weather station like setting some alarm thresholds, erase memory of data stored.
I think the question is: do you intend to put some of these "management" functions into Cumulus.
I may ask another question: 1081 stations have a quite big memory of data. Do you intend to manage this memory, retrieving all datas stored in the weather station and not only the current one. This could allow to shut down the computer during the night for example and collecting information only when the computer is started up
Many thanks

I don't have the protocol for doing this, and Fine Offset won't give it to me.northfunboard wrote:With Easyweather, you can set some things on the weather station like setting some alarm thresholds, erase memory of data stored.

Cumulus has been doing this for months!I may ask another question: 1081 stations have a quite big memory of data. Keep a copy of EW on your system, just to allow you to make changes to the stations setup.

Sorry Steve, I may not have found the function for the moment for the history of data.
I have to check for my weather station.
Thanks

Cumulus should just download the history data automatically, without you needing to do anything.northfunboard wrote:Sorry Steve, I may not have found the function for the moment for the history of data.

If you install and run Cumulus just once, where it manages to connect to the display and get data - then not run Cumulus for two weeks, it will then download the previous two weeks worth of data. The display unit can store a full two weeks worth of data, at its maximum update rate.
What Cumulus doesn't do after it is first installed, is attempt to download any data in the units memory from any time prior to its installation date.
