Which dials aren't updating, the wind speed & direction ones on the right hand side of the main screen or the ones on a website?
If it's on your website then make sure that you have it set to upload the realtime data file:
On the main screen click "Configuration" > "Internet" and in the Web Settings area make sure that the box marked "Enable Realtime" is ticked.

Hi and thanks for replying,

Yes the ones on the main screen I'm sorry i am kinda a newbie at this, I noticed when I stop cumulus and then start it it updates but only when I do this, I checked all the settings that I could find. It's running on windows 2003

So the wind data is updating OK in figures on the left hand side of the window, but none of the three dials on the right hand side are doing anything at all?

Hi steve

Its only updating when I close the program and open back up, The temps, barom, and humidity work

It's still not clear to me what isn't updating. The wind speed isn't updating at all (apart from when you stop and start it) - including the figures at the left hand side?

Could you please turn on the debug log and send me the debug.log after a few minutes running?

Thanks,
Steve

Ah - you're not using one of the latest (beta) builds, are you? :-)

I'm afraid I only added the logging for the WS2300 in the recent builds of 1.8.4 - would you mind installing the latest build and trying again with that?

These dials do not change unless I reboot cumulus

The first byte of the wind data that your station is returning has the value 0x08, so Cumulus discards it (the Open2300 code that I used as a guide for how to read the data does this - it discards anything non-zero in this byte). I've found a brief discussion on the Open2300 mailing list archive from a while ago where someone else was getting 0x08, and took out this check as the rest of the data was apparently valid... so I guess I could do the same.

Steve,

So I should wait for your correction. also is this why the realtime is not working on the website part of this.?

Thanks

Yes, I'll have something tomorrow.

Yes - the realtime wind gauges won't move because the wind speed readings are all being discarded.

The latest build should get your wind data updating:
