Copying web files to a webserver on the same machine?

Is there any way of copying web files to a php/iis webserver on the same machine from within Cumulus? I could use an external program, but I thought it must be possible from within the program. I could use the files tab, but there are too many (images & html files) to be copied for the slots available on this tab.

You can use the 'copy images to folder' box to copy the images (see the help), so you only need slots for the html pages. At some point I'm going to remove the restrictions on the number of files.

Have you tried using wild cards? Obviously you have created a number of your own so you would have some control over naming of the files (*.php possibly?) Not sure how Cumulus will react though to processing files containing webtags and then trying to copy filenames using a wildcard......

Thanks for the replies guys. I'd already tried wild cards & that did not work out. I was using the slots on the files tab to copy data onto a web under development & needed to get a site up & running using the Cumulus templates in the interim. Guess I can work with old data until the new site is done. More file slots would be great.
Thanks,
joe

I just discovered Cumulus two days ago and decided to try it out with my new La Crosse WS2355 by installing it on my home Windows 2003 server and getting it to update to its own web server. I too tinkered with trying to get it to update the files locally but couldn't get it to work properly (possibly through inexperience with the program and not knowing which files were needed to be put where).
In the end, I just installed the ftp service and set up a root site on the weather subdirectory so now it just ftps to itself. It sounds a bit clunky but it works fine; you can use the computer name, ip address or even 127.0.0.1 as the ftp server.

There is nothing difficult about getting Cumulus to update files locally - whilst I had Cumulus installed it was running on a Win 2008 R2 server and transferring all the files it needed to the same machine but on a different drive (the drive that hosted the server visible to the outside world. As long as you paths are all correct it will work. You do NOT need to implement an FTP server to get this working.
