I have a nasty virus on my Laptop that Cumulus runs on. (Antimalware Doctor). In effort to remediy this I am having to re-load XP onto the laptop, this of course means wiping the hard drive clean. As I have a years worth of weather data on the Laptop that I won't want to lose, I am looking to transfer it across to another machine.
If I copy the data onto a USB stick and load Cumulus onto to the Base station machine, is there any thinig odd, special I should look out for ?
Thanks Ian

You should have no issues by just copying the Cumulus folder and pasting onto your desktop PC. Have you tried using Malwarebytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php (download free version from your desktop pc onto usb stick), you may need to run the laptop in safe mode to install it but it should resolve the problem.

Thanks for the responses, I did not need to transfer the data in the end, although I did load cumulus across to the other machine and get it going.
I downloaded Malware bytes, and it erased the virus.
Thanks to all Ian

Pleased to hear Malwarebytes worked, it's a very good piece of free software and it saved having to go through a complete re-install
