Hi everyone. I just stumbled across this site by accident - what a result!

I had been thinking of buying myself a weather station for some time but had never been able to justify the cost to myself. Usual probs - OOW, skint etc. etc. Anyway, I went to my local Maplin store last week to buy a new battery for my car remote and almost fell over the last 2 N96GY Weather Station Kits, which were perched just inside the door, and had been reduced in price to £39.95 - presumably to get rid of old stock. So I took the plunge and bought one. Seems from reading this forum that I have myself a bargain - a half-decent outfit at a very good price.

Browsing around on the web to find out more about the unit - who i'ts made by etc., I saw mention of Cumulus software, so I googled it, downloaded it, and WOW - what an improvement on the Easyweather software that came with it.

I have downloaded and installed v1.9.0 build 958. Had a few problems initially getting it to download the data from the LCD panel but it finally worked. I'm running Windows XP SP3 on a Dell Inspiron 8500 widescreen laptop at 1280 x 800 screen resolution. I just can't get the status bar at the bottom of the Cumulus control panel. Not the end of the world, but any suggestions or ways of resizing the control panel??

I've had a few problems with cumulus freezing when exiting from the settings panel. I've had to force it to close and then restart it to get over the problem.

I'm seriously thinking of downloading the beta v1.9.1 (967). Will this just install over the top of my exisiting version? Or should I uninstall first? Also, I've customised the web pages slightly, will I lose this customisation?

Anyway, overall I'm very impressed with this software, particulaly the included web site and the ease of setting this up and getting it working. Well done. Times are hard at the moment (I'm not alone, I'm sure) but as and when things improve I will certainly be making a donation towards this superb software, and will even pay for it if in the future you decide to charge for it. Incidentally, I think you should ;)

You can just install over the top, and it will offer you the option of not overwriting the web pages (but will install them in a separate folder instead).

Bear in mind that 1.9.1 is not yet nearly as stable as 1.9.0!

Many thanks Steve, I'll give it a go. I'm very impressed. Terry.
