iPhone app

Hej

Is there anyone that has been working with an iPhone app for Cumulus?
(Not safari based)
Maybe an app with same layout as an weatherstation and changeable with different stations.
Option to set an alarm for temp or wind or so.
Discussion field, webcam etc.
To bad that there is only one tool to create apps and that is apple“s.

I really liked the cumuluswebtags to customize the site on your own.

I did think of developing a native iPhone App but instead I wrote the one based on the Safari browser.

To be honest I am not sure there is enough people interested in it. Firstly, an App is of little point as it needs an internet connection to get updates so why do you therefore need an App when a browser will do too. Secondly, to develop iPhone apps you need to buy a developers license -- although not expensive, one would then wish to ask users to buy the iPhone App in order to cover the costs. I do not get the sense that enough Cumulus users exists with iPhones and an appetite to pay for the app too.

I tend to agree with Daj on this, i installed the app on mine, because I own an iphone, and a couple of friends who now look into my site also own iphones. I will admittedly ALWAYS look for free programs for mine, i think i have paid for 3 apps, out of a total of about 40 on my phone.

Also you have to think of the likes of wunderground apps already out there and free that use the "location" feature and get you your local forecasts.

That was fast respons...
@Jens, as you see in the parentesis I don't want in Safari and as you also can see in following answers.

I've been using this iPhone variant since the beginning of this year or something.
So it's not new to me.

And yes I agree that the income isn't so much on this probably.
The question is really to someone that maybe already using the developer license.

Are you sure Daj that you get updates on Safari?
Is it possible for you to intergrate such as an alarm on your programming?

The Safari/iPhone page updates just as reguarly as the regular page does, so as long as its refreshed (and the station running)...and you dont get idiots like me who edit the wrong file, the safari page is always up to date

It's not the ordinary updating I ment.
It's when you get an alarm or something.
Message on your discussion, etc.

@Daj -For Cumulus as I wrote in line one ;)
You can have an discussion on other sites than this...

We are kite/vind surfers that watch my site for the right wind and we discuss when and where to get out.

@Daj
Did you delete your question?
You asked me if it was an app for this forum or Cumulus I asked for.

Yes, I did delete my question as I realised my mistake, and the question was stupid! ;)

Cumulus does not generate messages other than on it's own console. You can use other tools to interpret these messages and send emails to your iPhone (for example). I wrote an add-on for Cumulus called Toolbox which does a variety of things
