New User .. No Problems :-)

Post by deejc »

Hello, I am a new cumulus and new weather station nut here...
just thought i would say hello, i just purchased a Maplin N96GY and have set it up partially (no wind as sensors are on the floor), Installed Cumulus and set it up to serve pages from my NAS.
Its not up on a pole yet as i cant find any way to mount it, if anyone has any ideas for mounting it that would be great.
i need one of these : http://www.shadeusa.com/beach_umbrella_ ... A%20HOLDER

but its prohibitively expensive to send it from the USA.
I have a slight parapet i can mount it on so the above would be perfect.

I am loving cumulus  and its configurability

Hi dj.

neat idea but it wouldnt last 5 minutes up here on the Merseyside coast :)

better bet would be an offset (cranked) TV aerial pole that fits into a bolted bracket.

check out your TV shop and look for something like this.

http://www.dastv.co.uk/shop/12_x_12quot ... ed_434.php

The full job including quality rawl-bolts should cost < £25 and last for years.

Dont forget access for servicing, cable run, weather position ( in the clear ) and RF range so the reciever can 'see' the unit.

Also, loads of grease on all the threads !

Good luck and welcome.

Thanks Phil,
Unfortunately i live (currently) in a rented flat so can't drill holes in the wall, so i need a mount that can screw on and i have a slight overhang on the roof that is perfect for that type of mount.
