Question on merging historic data from v1.9.0

Post by geoffw »

I've just installed the latest Beta version in a temporary folder and set it up to recorded data from my weather station.

To merge in historic data, do I simple copy the data folder from v1.9.0 to the data folder in the Beta version?

I think that should do it as far as the data is concerned, the idea is that everything is in the data folder. There may be a few customisations in the main Cumulus folder that you might also want to copy over, if you've made any (strings.ini etc). You could follow the procedure described here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Moving_cumulus

Hi Steve

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. In the main it has worked though some historic 'records' have not worked (most of which seem to me associated to new features). My apologies if I have missed reference to them in earlier postings.

Highest Heat Index / Highest apparent temp / Lowest apparent temp / Humidity highest / Humidity lowest all are showing todays reading at first startup as records.

New types of all-time record only start from the point where you first run the build which introduces them.

I guessed this was the case, Steve.

However, is it practicable go through historic data to find circumstance that would give the actual record since data was first collected?

i.e what is the calculation that creates The apparent temperature reading and the humidity figure?

Apparent temp: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#What_f ... erature.3F

See also a recent thread about retrospectively determining high/low apparent temps.

Humidity isn't calculated, it's just logged. But note that the high/low daily humidity wasn't always logged.
