WH2000/WH2001

Post by Oakhill »

I have noticed Fine Offset have released the WH2000[1] and even though I don't want to replace my WH1080 I was interested in the USB receiver that can been seen in the kit, I wonder if A) You can buy it separately and B) would it work with the WH1080 kit transmitter.

The display thinggy lives downstairs and the PC is upstairs and I have to keep taking it to the PC to download/look at the data. I would love a USB receiver I can have plugged in to my PC for constant use.

I think that USB device transmits data downloaded from the internet, from the PC to the station. I think it's highly unlikely that it would work with a WH1080.

You could buy another 1080 -- and use the console; one on the PC and one downstairs. They will both happily receive from the same transmitter. Also means you have spare sensors if needed.

Maplin are doing one (a 1080 equivalent) for half price (at £65) just now

I use one to run Cumulus and the other was used when I was playing with Cumulus v2 beta

I don't want to spend much money if I can help it. I have the Maplin one and I got it last year at the discounted price. Its annoying that you can't just get a usb receiver for the unit.
