LAN broadcast / realtime.txt

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and am following Cumulus developments.
Are there any plans to broadcast the weather data over the local area network as an alternative to realtime.txt?
Past years I've been working on my own software for the VP2+ and use the LAN broadcast of VP2 data with success. It enables me to develop software anywhere in the LAN whilst data is available everywhere. Also add-ins could be developed more easily. It's a windows server service running on the background.
Lack of time forces me to look to other software products and development is at hold.
