Cumulus Support

I have learned by first lesson in html that everyone else probably knew. It only does layout coding if that is the proper term and it want perform math functions.

As I understand it so far, java is my best way to go.

I ran this script I found on the internet on my blog and it worked so I have at least got my feet wet.

I read somewhere that coding will suck the life out of your day. Got to have something to do on rainy days.

Just to be clear, you are coding in Javascript, not Java. Best to get the terminology correct

The two common ways are Javascript or PHP for doing all the fancy stuff. They both have the good and bad points. Possibly the biggest consideration is that any Javascript is run on the users browser -- so the page is downloaded and their PC does the work of Javascript. With PHP it is all done on the server and the result is sent to the user.

A tip, before you get into a bad habit: Java and JavaScript are completely unrelated (even though a certain user here tries to deny that). JavaScript is what you're using.

It's strange -- sometimes the fourm will tell you if someone has already posted while you were writing (In which case I cancel my reply if it is the same). Other times it does not

I've noticed that; I think it's the timing. Or a bug. On a number of occasions I've missed someone's post completely, and perhaps only noticed it days later, because it was posted at the same time as mine, particularly if it involves a 'page turn'.

One stumbling block I found with PHP is that all servers do not support it. I had to search around for a free PHP server to host my banner only, as my home page server couldn't

My hosting is free and PHP friendly but I know what you are saying. A lot of the free offerings don't do it, or slap adverts all over the pages
